Secretary:  Joy Pow

I marched with St. Johns Drum and Bugle Corps from 1966-1980 and played soprano for a couple of years and later switched to Mellophone which I loved to play.  I became the soloist for St. Johns, playing the "Impossible Dream” solo and the point of the V formation!  I ended my junior years as drum major.  My whole family was involved in drum corps – my mom (Evelyn Hagan) chaperoned and served on the board, my dad (Tom Hagan) was equipment manager and also served on the board and became the first Corps Director for the Belles of St. Johns Drum and Bugle Corps (feeder corps for St Johns), he passed away while the corps was at the U.S. Open in Marion, Ohio in 1975.  My sister (Patty Hagan) played bass drum with St Johns for a couple of years before I joined and my other sister (Gerry) was an avid drum corps fan!  I am married to our Corps Director (Ed) which I met after I became assistant horn instructor to Golden Lions 1976.  We have two wonderful sons Jim and Sawyer and live in Brantford.  I absolutely love Drum Corps!!

Corps Director (Corps Manager) *:  Ed Pow

Appointed Nov. 2004

I originally started playing the tuba in grade 8 at Elgin Avenue Public School in Simcoe and joined Simcoe Golden Lions Drum and Bugle Corps in 1975.  Throughout my marching years with Golden Lions I played contra bass, headed up the members' Corps Committee and later became Corps Director and married one of our horn instructors.  Unfortunately Golden Lions disbanded in 1981.  In 1984 I started working in Emergency Health Services and decided to get back into drum corps in 1998 when United Alumni was formed.  It was in the fall of 2004 when I am proud to say I became Corps Director of United Alumni and have loved every minute of it (well... almost every minute... lol).  My wife Joy and I reside in Brantford and have two sons, Jim working on the railroad somewhere in Ontario and Sawyer works in downtown Toronto.
