On Monday, February 10, 1969 registration was held to revitalize junior drum corps in Simcoe for the new Simcoe Golden Lions Drum & Bugle Corps.  The Simcoe Lions Club agreed to take over the debt accumulated by the former Simcoe Royal Blues drum corps along with their instruments.  Their first rehearsal was on March 3, 1969 with 36 horns, 14 drums and 12 colour guard.  The corps competed in Junior B, Junior C and parade class categories.  In 1977 the Golden Lions highlighted their tenure by winning the "Triple Crown" of Canadian Junior C Drum Corps, by winning all three Championships - Junior C, Ontario Provincials and Canadian Nationals.  The Golden Lions folded February 10,1981, exactly 12 years to the day they took their first registrations.
